What
The CSA Rec Plus program, previously referred to as CSA Junior Academy, is designed for players aged U7/U8 and U9/U10 who possess outstanding athletic talent or advanced skills that exceed the capabilities of the Rec program. This program provides an excellent opportunity for players wishing to transition to a more competitive travel team in subsequent years, although it is not required. Teams are coached by parent volunteers or individuals who are committed to the development of players' skills and fostering a deeper understanding of the game. Participants in the CSA Rec Plus program will be grouped by tiers and compete in the Tri-County Area Rec Plus league.
Each Rec Plus team will require at least two coaches to unlock the full potential of our aspiring athletes. If your child's team lacks a coach, parents will be encouraged to volunteer. All volunteer coaches will be able to receive guidance from a head coach of each age group as well as be provided activities and instruction for their team. If we don't have enough volunteer coaches, players may be moved to the CSA Rec program. To learn more, visit our coaching information page.
Some of the benefits include a complimentary player registration. More information may be found on the coaching information page.
*IMPORTANT: To receive a registration credit, you must first submit your coaching license to recadoc@calvertsoccer.org. You will then receive a code to redeem during your player's registration. Do not register your player before receiving a code; the credit is not retroactive. When
Two practices will be held each week based on coaches' availability. Games will typically be played on Friday evenings or Saturdays (Weather permitting). Practice and game schedules are posted before the start of the season.
Where
Practices are generally held at CSA Park in Prince Frederick or The Calverton School in Huntingtown but can vary based on coaches’ availability. Games are played against other teams that are a part of the Tri-County League (including other CSA Rec Plus teams), with an equal split between home and away games.
How Often
Typically, ten to twelve weeks depending on age (weather permitting). The fall program begins in mid/late August and ends by the beginning of November. The spring program begins in mid-March and ends by the middle of June. Practices are held twice per week with games on weekends.
