What: Instructional program geared toward improving the technical skills of the recreational player and coach, either to advance to another level or just improve their individual skillset. The program is run by licensed Coaches and provides an individual instructor for every 10 to 15 children. Academy participants will divided into ability levels to ensure proper competition. Coaches will be given curriculum that they can follow for their practice to enhance activities from academy night.
When: Team coaches will choose one academy night training to go along with their weekly team practice night. The season is over prior to the last weekend of regular season games.
Where: Sessions will be at The Calverton School, Hallowing Point Park, and either BGE Field or Solomons Town Center.
How often: Typically 8-10 sessions beginning when normal practices begin and running through the end of the regualr game season, depending on field availability and weather cancellations.
What you need to bring: Black uniform jersey as well as an appropriate sized ball, shin guards and athletic footwear. Cleats are recommended but not required. Also bring plenty of water.
